Night shades red on my 2013 tails, check it out

So I didn't like the chrome ring on the oem tails. And i'm not a fan of black smoked lights on white.

So I gave this a shot, I remember I a similar product on my maxima years ago but it was some paint from a hobby store.

Here's the scoop:

I did about 3-4 coats of the night shades red
( wish I did 1 coat less cause it dried a little darker then I intended but Im still pleased with how they look)

Then I followed with about 2-3 coats of clear

Next I need to do give them a light polish when I wax the truck next week cause up close they have a slight orange peel, but its barley noticeable.

That looks awesome! Do you have a pic with the brake lights on? Did it affect the light output?

 

Looks good, the stock tails look like something from ebay or autozone. At least these are stock looking like they should have been from the toyota.

I am happy with my old style tails before they went LED.

 

love it. i had red tint on my Si and it made it so much cleaner, however on my taco i like the blacked out ones a bit more.

Nice, that's exactly what I planned to do to my '12 tails.
Never been a fan of the "Altezza" look.

 

Didn't get a chance to take any night pics , but they pretty much look the same . Wish I took before pictures I just didn't think about it at the time .
