I just had tenants move out that apparently parked a leaky jalopy in my new garage. Oil spots EVERYWHERE. I was considering getting the whole thing coated until I discovered Pour and Restore. Definitely works better than anything I've used before for the occasional contractor that parks their leaky F150 in my driveway. No scrubbing either. In this case it didn't totally remove the stain, but at least you probably wouldn't know there had been an oil stain there. Which is good enough for me...it is a garage after all.

lol. and on top of all that, have to have it towed to the dealer and have everything flushed and also have the oil changed.

BTW, It was another member on here that, that happened to and not me.

I haven't had any problems with this kind. Do you open the yellow valve so it can breathe?

Open the yellow vent and they work just fine, most forget to and oil can't drain in fast enough. Simple oversight.

This is why I don't even use a drain pan. I just park the truck on the street over the storm sewer drain that's by my curb, and let 'er flow.

Yes. The problem is the velocity the oil comes out of the engine and hitting the pan then splashing up and over the sides. I've gotten it to where I can let the oil shoot straight into the hole and it works ok. Just my experiences, but like I said, not problem for me anymore since I don't use it. :)

Hey OP, if it makes you feel better on my last change I took off the old filter, drained the oil, put in new oil and started the engine.
You can guess what important step I missed.
Thank god the hood was up so I could kill it before too much got spit out.

This one got me too. Now I just stay under there moving the pan around till it slows down enough. Keep meaning to order one of those valves.

    sorry. i call operator error.

i have that exact pan, but mine is black. that is the ONLY drain pan that can handle the "Fast dump" from a mid year porsche 911. the sump is 9 qts. if you dump it with the engine warm..the best way i can describe it is that "first piss in the morning after a night of hot sex" the oil will come out in all sorts of creative stream patterns not to mention directions. the hole in the pan is bigger than most. if you pull the vent plug, it can match what is coming out of the car.

my truck is higher up, so the bounce is a problem. i usually sit it on a furniture dolly pallet thing. allows me to roll it around quickly and it gets it up there closer to the oilpan. and i never leave it dribbling unattended. i dont know how many times a gentle breeze will blow the dribble out onto the concrete.

i love that pan!! wish i could find another. i'll take yours if your local :)

A few years ago I bought a brand new oil container and did an oil change that night in my garage. Little did I know, the oil pan had a hole in it. The worst part was that I started the oil draining and went in the house for about 10 minutes to wash my hands and do a couple of other things. When I went back in the garage the damn floor had 4 gallons of oil on it (F-350 Diesel). I went back to the auto store with the oil pan and demanded they supply me with all the oil absorbent it would take to clean up the epic mess. They kindly obliged...
