What have you done (that you can share publicly) that got you standing before the Man? One of many: when I was a 2nd ClassPetty Officer, (E-5/NCO for you non Coasties) I calibrated the Boat radar one warm summer day. Our boats were on a Pier open to the public and a restaurant had a deck overlooking the water about fifty yards away from our boat moorings. So needless to say there were a few Civilians around. To properly calibrate the radar, I wrapped a Seaman (E-3) in aluminum foil (for a good radar signature:cool:) and had them stand on the Restaurants Deck, as I called over the PA from the boat, for them to turn left & right. Yea, that got me standing on the carpet. I don’t think the Civilians had any idea shenanigans were taken place, but that, apparently is no excuse.

And FYI, just because there is no written policy stating you can NOT water Ski behind a Coast Guard Boat, means you can!

    oh man.

when i was at a training command, i was 21 and had a car, which made EVERYBODY want to be my friend. i had a cheap little 4-door focus that i pretty much used as a taxi to take people places, and instead of having them pay me in gas money, i'd have them buy me beer/liquor (eliminate the middleman, right?). so it's a saturday of a holiday weekend..I think it was labor day. i'm driving back from somewhere and I'd been driving people around all day and I must have had a good 200+ bucks worth of beer and random liquor in my back seat, uncovered just sitting there, and i went through the gate on base and the guard saw it. of course, a shitstorm ensues and accusations of providing to minors come at me and everyone is calling me a dirtbag with zero integrity. at my hearing thing i plead my case and they couldn't prove a thing so I just ended up with a counseling telling me to not have a ton of booze in my car anymore.

another time we were drunk outside the barracks on a saturday night and we were idiots fresh out of MCT and we were stopping EVERYONE that was trying to get in and making them put their IDs on the ground and get on their knees before we let them through. people weren't too happy about getting yelled at by drunk PFCs so eventually the staff duty showed up and called us all dumbasses and made us stop.

i had a few friends have a foursome with some SOBER army girl who cried rape the next day. their careers are pretty much over now for it.
