Wanting to put 2 sundown audio sd2-8" behind the back seat of my wifes DC. Is there enough room to put these there without having to remove the plastics on the back of the seats? The subs have a mounting depth of 4 3/4". Did not want the subs hitting the back of the seats. Want to be able to keep the plastics there.

there's certainly enough room to fit that depth, but the real unknown is how high does the surround sit above the rear of the speaker ring. i didn't see any posted specs on the clearance required. the surrounds look pretty big. you should probably contact sundown.

hopefully you can get them to fit without issues. those subs require very little space and get pretty loud.

I think you SHOULD be able to, but thats a sub with some excursion to it right? Most depths aren't an issue at 4", but ultimately it comes down to the construction of your box...thats where you need to do the math.

It might take a special mounting ring inside the box so you can effectively recess the subwoofer INTO the box and give it room to move without killing the realized volume of the box.

You can move the latch brackets on the seat backs to get a little more room. You will have to modify the back plastic covers to put them back on.

My brother has a 10" sundown in his jeep. I need to measure how high the foam surround is. Then I should add probley another inch for excursion ya'll think?
