rollback vs. flipbak tonneau covers

Does anyone have any input on tonneau covers? I want something that will prevent theft and hopefully increase gas mileage. Can any one tell me which one is more secure? I am looking at bak industries rollbak and flipbak. It seems you can install a low profile truck box with the flipbak model which winds up being about the same price as the rollbak in the end. I would love to hear from anyone who bought this before I buy. Thanks

 

If you do a general search you will get quite a few threads with reviews of different covers. If you search for the ones you are particularly interested in, a number of threads will come up regarding those specific covers. Might find what your after that way. Good luck.

 

I don't know about security but personally I would prefer the rollback because it leaves more space when it's opened. That's what I like the most with my access literider rollup cover. Of course it's only vinyl so it's not secure but when I roll it up I only loose a few inches of open bed space.

 

I've got a Roll N Lock cover and despite it being a bit more expensive I would say it's worth it. Rolls up so you can still use most of the bed but also Locks and is a tough cover.

 

Just installed the bak rollbak, seems like a quality piece. The instructions suck and some pieces in box were not even needed. I had to trim an 1/8th inch of the bed rails to get the tailgate to close. There are a couple of leaks after heavy rain, but that's expected with a retractable unit. Aluminum is good quality as is the finish and it looks great on the truck. Got mine off eBay for 875.
