Weird sound when turning off engine.

I just bought a '13 prerunner sport. When I turn off the engine there's a strange whining sound coming from the engine. It only lasts a few seconds. Is that normal if so what is it?

 

Welcome, im new here too. I also have a new 2013 Taco and having same issue.

Of course i haven't popped the hood yet...guess im just being lazy

 

From other posts have said yes it is. Something to do with emissions.

 

I have a noise problem when I turn off the engine of my 2012...

my 2013 doing the same thing ,but i was having throttle lag every so often id be driving at say 40 mph and truck would drop down to like 15 mph when i should be going 40 mph so the dealer replaced my air injection pump said had same issues with tundras should take care of problem it hasnt happened since but its only been 2 weeks,that air injection pump what your hearing when you shut it off.Even after it was replaced it still sounds about the same but doesnt seem to have that grinding sound.

 

if it goes "wwshhhhhhhhhhh" thats normal. and welcome
