I own a 2013 Pre Runner AC. As with all trucks I have owned, I still have the issues with wax build up up on the rubber trim components like fender to body trim, door to cab trim and such. Is there a product that reverses the accidental application of over wipe of wax on the rubber trim? And dont tell me its Amor All. been there done that.
No matter how I have tried to reverse the process, It still fades to white from the over wipe. I have always tried to avoid the rubber trim when waxing but sometimes the rubber trim gets a little. The Marker thing is a bad idea, hehe don't do it! It wont last! Still turns to white after a while.
    Any Suggestions?

I used to use meguires back to black on my xterra and it worked well. Thankfully this truck has little black trim.

Rubbing alcohol, aka Isopropyl alcohol. White vinegar will clean it up also.

DuraGloss wax eraser #481 works. I've heard WD-40 and peanut butter also work, but never tried it. Also heard citrus cleaners like Goo-Gone work too.

After you get it off. Get some detailing tape and cover the rubber up next time.

FWIW, I don't have the issue with the wax build up, it's the deposits that get onto the rubber and don't come off.

Some have said it is mold. I doubt it since withing a few days new moldings also show it. Plus my truck is every which way parked outdoors.

    Where in SoFL are you?

I use this and 303 Aerospace on plastic/rubber/vinyl parts and it does a great job cleaning things up and protecting them from the sun.

The Meguiar's should strip off the wax. You may need a toothbrush to work it into textured plastics.

After you remove your wax stains, a protectant on the rubber gaskets will keep them soft. You need to use a silicon spray on all rubber items on your Taco. I spray window channels with the window down, and any rubber items underneath all my truck. I spray with the silicon spray every time I change my oil.

Great news folks! I found the cure for the wax over wipe on rubber and plastics on my 2013 Taco. Now there are a lot of products for this obviously. The very first product I used to shine the truck was a product called Slick Mist Speed Wax By LUCAS Oil Products Co. After a couple of times of regular waxing with a good wax like Meguiars Tech 2.0, the wax I used after the fact because I wanted better protection. That LUCAS Slick Mist Detailer spray is what actually removed the other wax that showed the over wipe to begin with. Interesting I think. But it did work. Thanks for all the info everyone! Oh, And try the LUCAS Slick Mist. It works really well as a 1 week last fast wax. Excellent Shine if paint is in good condition.
