I've heard from a couple TW guys concerning this topic but wanted to throw it out there to the larger audience for more opinions. Maybe even someone in the exact same situation has some feedback.

In my newly aquired '06 2.7L 4cyl I have plans to install the Bilstien 5100 leveler shocks part #BE-C475-H0 in the front (set @ 1.75 for leveling) and BE5-476-H6 in the rear (just for uniform ride comfort).

The problem is the stock rear springs are only the 2 leaf, (3 counting the overload) set. If I will typically be hauling around no more than 500lbs of tools and maybe occasionally a small utility trailer, will I have an issue not adding more leafs to the rear?

This truck is for light duty off-roading so no need for the mack-daddy anything. I only have the Billys in mind to improve handling and bring up the front to match the rear. I'll be sticking with the factory recommended tire size of 245/75/16 as well.

Are you suggesting the possible issue would be a bro lean?

Whats a "bro lean" ....bro? Higher in the front than the rear? Thats a concern, plus stability too, with the minimal leafs in back.

i actually set my front billies to 1.75 and already had the bro lean before any weight added in rear.. most guys here who set them to 1.75 end up doing an AAL (adding a leaf ) in rear..

furthermore, if not wanting to really make it a huge towing truck i would suggest just an AAL vs. making/ buys a heavy duty leaf pack... iftowing on regular basis buy all new leaf pack

The "bro lean" describes a truck that sits noticeably higher in the front (nose high) than the rear.

For what it's worth, most guys with the 3-leaf pack set their Billsteins at 0.85 to give it a level stance. Your best bet is to measure you hub to fender to see approximately how much lift you need/want.

    Thanks for all the replies.
I guess what I'm really asking is ....are those who have the 2 leaf pack (non TSB, I've heard it called), happy with their rear springs plus Bilsteins?

Lol, I play. I have my billies at 1.75" with stock 13' rear leafs. Its perfectly level, but with any decent bed load it bros a bit. Looks great. But .85, without doing anything to the ass is likely what you'll want. The ride difference alone is worth buying the billies.
