Which do you guys think is better? My truck has a K&N already in it from the last owner, but are the AFE filters better performance-wise? I like the idea of not having to oil it every time I clean it too, which the AFE dry filters offer.

I've used K&N's for many years in various vehicles and I'm using an AFE in my tacoma currently.

I think the K&N's allowed more airflow. I had one in my 96 tacoma and you could feel it in throttle response.

The AFE - not so much.

The AFE is much easier to clean than the K&N. I've discovered if the K&N isn't kept clean regularly, it will allow dust past the filter. I used to clean my K&N's every 6 months or so. I clean my AFE once a year and it could probably go a lot longer.

For me, it's more of convenience than about performance.

Although both of our trucks are supercharged and Im talking intakes, I have a K&N that serves its purpose for me without issues and my friend changed his K&N to an AFE stage 2 and claims to have noticed a difference in power. If you have a stock truck the air filter will not make much of a difference so just go with what you think will be easier to maintain and protect
