Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 4wd?

That would probably be your best bet.

 

Just because someone stuck a Prerunner tailgate on a 4WD doesn't mean it's now a Prerunner... it means it's a 4WD with a Prerunner tailgate.

 

I understand this. Im not a dumbass. I just didnt know the best way figure if it was converted to 4wd or not

 

Id like to revive this beaten horse. I always would have bet my life that a Pre Runner is NOT 4 WD. Yet my brother just bought an 09 PreRunner 4x4. WTF!?

He bought it from Toyota dealership. It has 4wd and the pre runner badge.

If its legit 4x4 then that's what it is. Read the thread. Someone (po) probably just stuck a prerunner badge on it. You can't have both.

maybe it is not the original tailgate (if that's where the prerunner badges are located)

 

If the truck is four wheel drive then it's not a prerunner. Toyota never made a prerunner that was four wheel drive. If someone puts a V6 badge and a TRD O/R sticker on their reg cab does that mean that's what it is? No. It's just a badge man.
