in consideration of a 2013 Texas Edition, is there a locking lug for the wheels?
According to the dealer , No! And they don't have any either.
    original lug is
    shank - .250 length; .608 diam.
    bevel - .350 length ; Angle ???
    same thread as originals - 12 X 1.50.

I sent photos and measurements to "Gorilla". But I'm not holding my breath.

    Ideas???

Was it a salesman or a partsguy that said there are none? You can get locks for any wheel...

    Parts guy at the dealership.
In our conversation, He stated that the locking lugs they carry / sell are supplied to them from McGard. However, there isn't a locking lug for the wheels that are on the Texas Edition Tacoma. Not that he was aware of.
I contacted "Gorilla" direct and gave them the information (am awaiting a response).
    I haven't contacted McGard yet.
Thought I'd ask here first if anyone else solved their search for a lug.

Mcgard makes locking lugs for everything under the sun. I'm sure there's something... maybe the partsguy is inexperienced

Buying "something" that will suffice can be easily done. Buying something that is perfect for those wheels is becoming difficult. (duplicate of original lug design)
According to the "parts guy" , the trouble is in the combination of a small shank (.250 L ) combined with the bevel seat. He stressed the short shank size
Yes, I could use a simple bevel seat and have a locking lug (minus the shank) , or shank'ed with a flat seat and washer, but it isn't best.
I'd prefer original design with locking feature.
By the replies being posted, it appears no one else is finding anything that is OEM configuration either.

I bought OEM wheel locks from the dealer, not sure what you're talking about. They work just fine. I'll be taking them off this weekend to install my lift, i'll snap a picture of them.

Here's what my dealer sold me. Like I said, they work fine.

I'm debating on ordering / trying the gorilla locking lug #68631N .
Has anyone tried this on the TX edition wheels?
It is the closest measurements to OEM lug I can locate.
BUT,,, the shank is .012 wider (dia) and the shank length is .005 longer.
Length doesn't concern me as much as the increased diameter.

    any opinions??

For those on "Pins and Needles" regarding the (correct) locking wheel lugs,
If those that want a set,
Order "Gorilla Wheel Locks" # 68631N. They fit very well and retain the correct style of the short shank w/bevel seat. Length is close to perfect.

I have since ordered and installed a set of the "gorilla" ultra lug nuts on the Texas edition wheels. I attempted a logic approach to the balance issue.
In a quick explanation, The OEM lug shank is .608 diameter. with a bevel seat. the lug mounting hole in the TX edition wheel is .625 (5/8) diam.
I installed the "gorilla" lugs with a shank size of .620 dia. / bevel seat. The shank is almost a precision fit when mounting the wheel. I believe (stress that word), that the larger shank helps maintain a wheel center and in combination with a precision laser balancing, the issue seems to have been resolved . Time will tell

Removed the mud flaps. Put in a new AFE air filter.
Am I missing something, or does the Gorilla web site NOT HAVE online ordering? I really need to call these people like I did back in the early 90's?

I need some lugs for my Texas Edition wheels as well.

I ordered from Discount tires. The lug set was $30 for the twenty needed and the locking (5) was another $19.
As of this writing, my balance issue has been resolved. I don't know if it was the lugs , laser balance , or combination of both. But I'm happy :D

If I may, and it isn't forbidden, I'd like to give a shameless plug to the tire folks that helped with the resolution of my balance issues on TEXAS Edition wheels.
After 3 attempts by the dealer, and three attempts by Discount tires, I found a new tire shop over here in the S.E. part of Houston.
Great bunch of people, brand new laser balance machines and a great "customer first" attitude, They bent over backwards and got it right.
"Tire by Design" on Space Center Blvd.
I realize there are other great shops, but it's a waste of money trying to find em.
And no, I have no gain by this, except hopefully helping out fellow owners that are having troubles.
