Hi there - Long time luker, first time poster here :)

I've done some searches, but haven't come up with what I'm looking for yet. I recently installed the URD TCAI and the MAF Calibrator and am curious the effect on gas mileage it's had with others that installed the combo?

I realize installing this combo isn't intended to give better gas mileage, but I've had quite a drop.

I never had awesome gas mileage in my Taco. Usually running anywhere from 13 -15 mpg (I have a leadfoot). It seems after the install I'm running 10 - 12 mpg (Seriously). I'm running the TCAI calibrator map that was preloaded on the calibrator.

Does anyone have any recommendations I could try? Maybe a new map? Remove the calibrator all together? Any thoughts our suggestions on things to try would be great!

Also, thanks for this awesome forum. I've learned a lot lurking here :)

The best mod for MPGs is staying off the throttle. Are you on it more then usual?

I remember I averaged like 8 MPG when I first got my Supercharger cause I couldn't stay off the throttle, lol.

In the beginning I was, and expected the MPG decrease from that. Now, though it's still pretty low. What are you averaging?

    Loud as hell URD exhaust!
To help with gas mileage this is what I did with mine on a previous Taco. On the fuel map look at the left hand further most cells while driving around and then letting off the gas. You can see that when you let off the gas the vacuum pulls the cursor to the negative cells.

This means that when you take your foot off the pedal you are still dumping un-necessary fuel into your engine while coasting. To eliminate this just set those cells to "0". Your engine doesn't need extra fuel dumped into it while coasting under it's own power. Of course this is in closed loop mode so it doesn't cut the gas off completely and kill the motor but instead just reduce it enough to save on fuel.

Look into it and let us know the results.

I installed the TCAI/MafCali earlier this year and noticed no mpg affects + or -.

Now, a couple months after the install I started throwing codes (lean codes). Turns out I had some bad solders on the MAF sensor extension. Conceivably this type of problem could cause mpg affects, but I fixed it pretty quick.

BTW, only way I had to verify that it was the MAF sensor problem was by watching my long term and short term fuel trims along with the MAF sensor reading on my Scanguage.
