2008 shakes on take off , any ideas ???

My 08 sport double cab will shake when we go from a stand still and then accelerate , if anyone has an Idea as to why this happens we would be grateful to know I am new to Tacoma World so sending me an e-mail would be best ......................thanks

 

my guess is axle wrap. the leaf springs are weak on these trucks and enable the axle to torsionally flex the springs. you make the the tires rotate forward and that exerts a force on the axle to rotate in the opposite direction. the result is a bit of a shimmy.

my truck did it until I added my 3 leaf add a leaf kit. big relief to me as I always assumed it was a burnt/glazed clutch
