Hello all - I was hoping to glean a bit of perspective before I go all half cocked to the dealership and drop my tranny in front of them.... no not that kind of tranny :)

I have a 2012 SR5 DCLB Auto with about 15k miles on her. I bought her used certified from a local dealership, so I have a ton of warranty on her, 100k to be exactly.

I've noticed a few things about the truck, no issues, no wrecks, it's clean. I'm sure it was well taken care of. My concern is with the tranny. My main concern I've noticed the last two days.

While going around a corner at around 20mph, I am on the gas to the corner, braking, let off the gas, go to accelerate through the corner, and it's like the transmission has to catch up to the engine speed or the engine speed to the tranny as the RPMs jump about 800 until I finally feel the truck start pulling again.

It happened yesterday same corner, and I figured, eh, fluke. Today, it did it again, I figured, this sucks, let's figure this out.

I've noticed the other typical hard shifting into second issues, and the shudder upon acceleration as well, but this one is the most annoying to me.

Also, bejesus there is a lot of engine noise on these things! I've had her for about 1,000 miles so far and I love the truck, absolutely love it. Just making sure I know her through and through.

    Thank you,
    Mario

The automatic transmission does have an overrun clutch type system in it (Almost every automatic does these days) so that your truck operates smoother and the transmission does not "engine brake" at all times. The sensation you are describing COULD be either a slip, or just the normal operation as the overrun clutch allows engine RPM to catch up to transmission output shaft speed. Unfortunately what you have described could be either one.

First thing I would suggest is making sure your fluid level is correct. Low fluid will cause a slipping sensation, more evident in turns, as the fluid in the pan will shift to the side in a corner. After that, just take the truck in to the service department and ask them to take a look at it. Better to be safe than sorry. Things happen with a mass produced vehicle. One can't expect every vehicle built to be flawless and perfect for 100k+ miles. It won't happen. Have it checked out if you don't want to do it yourself (As far as fluid level), or just take it in and have it looked at. Either way, with an expensive part like a transmission, you don't want to put it off.

It seems to ne pretty normal. My 03 does it and my dads 09 does it. I have learned to ease into the throttle to make it less felt. My dad on the other hand makes it very noticeable. Drive's me crazy. But hey get it checked out under warranty to be sure.
