These trucks hold their value pretty good, especially in my area (AZ)

16k is ridiculous...although it does have low miles...I'd pay 12-13 tops for it personally

    Good luck man :)

I wouldn't even pay that if it was 4x4 and damn sure wouldn't pay close to that for a 2wd. In fact, once I saw it was a Prerunner I'd click the "back" arrow and keep on looking. Prerunners are fine for most people, but I have 0 use for a 2wd truck.

Ditto that. I wouldn't even start to get excited about a first gen until I saw pictures of the undercarriage first!!

I sold my 2004 TRD OffRoad 4x4 a few months ago with 109000 miles on it for $9000.00. It had a Leer cap too! Other than the mileage it was MINT and a solid frame....oh and I am in Canada if that matters. It sold so quick it made my head spin so maybe a sign I sold it a little on the low side.

    $17,000.00 for a low mileage 2WD...no way.

I'd say no more than 9k. But then again I'm Chinese.

How the @!#$ is 14k winning the poll
    It's a 2004 2wd
    That's more than I'd pay for a stock 2004 4wd

That just goes to say some thing! seems like people are willing to pay 14k for a nice 1st gen. I myself prefer the extend cab and I live in florida so a 4x4 is rarely needed.

Yes, I agree. My brother lives in Vero Beach, actually.
I know all about your complete lack of a need for a 4wd; haha.
    For that matter, you don't even really need a V6;
And, someone will buy that for 14k to asking price in short-time, I'm sure.

But, if you have the luxury of waiting, I'm almost certain you'll be able to find a better deal -
that's more than the price 4wd's are fetching; the point not being "hey, you need a 4wd"
but, being that you should be able to find a Prerunner in similiar condition WAY cheaper than that

Definitely have time on my side. I test drove the 2.7l and I was REALLY disappointed by the lack of power. V-6 All the way! and the 4x4 would be a plus.
Actually I have no use for a truck besides recreational needs, you know camping boating etc.

I was astounded how gutless the 2.7 was
My buddy let me borrow his for about 2 weeks, and I was having to deactivate the Over-Drive (was an auto) and floor it to maintain 70mph on the freeway when faced with the slightest inclines. but, an ant hill is the biggest incline you encounter down there. haha

I paid 13.5K for a 2004 PreRunner SR5 extra cab with 75K on it. Nice tires all around. Came with a nice camper shell and amp with subwoofer. In California where prices are stupid!
