Curious on thoughts of why you went with the HD over standard.

Was it for load capacity, or something else?

I'm torn between the regular and the HD. I would be bummed if I got an AAL (and removed the overload so I don't get too much lift), and my load capacity went to crap.

I plan on 5100's set at 1.75" up front, so I'm concerned that LEAVING the factory overload will set the rear too high (since I've read that nets 2"+ in the rear that way)

Was wondering the same!! Just talked to them and they recommended the HD since I pull a trailer and carry heavy loads from time to time.

I have the standard wheelers 3 leaf pack. I would say at 1.75 up from the back would be too high. Mine is almost level with the front at 2.5.

I have it. I ended up leaving the overload in and I probably ended up getting about 2" of lift. I pulled my pop up tent trailer the other day, and while I wouldn't expect much sagging anyways from that thing, there was none!

Interesting. I've heard enough downsides to running the stock springs and 5100's at full 2.5" that I want to steer away from that, I think. I understand that it's a possibilty that the rear will be higher...but, if the front is getting raised 1.75" and the rears are getting 1.5" from the AAL...in theory it should be nice and even. Maybe a slight rake still, since the rear, stock, is about an inch or so higher. I don't mind a small rake. I'd definitely want to avoid the bro look :D

    Thanks all for the responses.

I wonder if there is a downside to just going with the HD's?

Just to muddy the waters more, I wonder if the Icon is the same "strength" as the standard Wheeler, or in between, or more towards their HD?
