yeah he was the exact same before kids i wont argue there... and i am not mad/against welfare or government aid at all but the problem with it is when it was originally started you could only get aid if you had paid your fair share of taxes into the system which is great because everyone will need help at some point.. but the problem is we as a country we are way too far past that point! just like you said there are too many people that abuse the system/never work and pay into it and they keep having kids for tax right offs and more money from wefare/food stamps so they dont have to work and ruin it for the families that actually need the help! I know not everyone is like this but there is a ton of people that do this and its sickning.. i know you paid your fair share in, therefore when you were on it you werent taking money from the people because u had aready paidyour share into it.. im not saying people shoudnt have kids by any means because of financial reasons i just feel like if a couple is to have a kid they need to take responsibility for their kids and not realy and the government/people to take care of them.. im not saying you have to have perfect finances but people need to be able to afford a kid before they have them ofcourse this is just my opinion and we all know opinions are like assholes we all have one..

No arguing here, just discussion as I see it.

While it's an extreme example, I think that it was not a good decision by Nadya Suleman who was already unable to care for and support the family she had to make a conscious choice to have another child much less 8 more.

I don't think there should be an income requirement either so to speak..and as we've found here, what one person can scrape by on might be living it up for another depending on a lot of things..some within our control, others not.

Personally, I was adopted at about 6 months old. Both my parents were very young and dirt poor. They decided to give me up for adoption, which I'm sure is the hardest choice they could make, so I could have a better life. I don't think anyone should have to do that either but it is one real life example.

I can't even TRY to imagine how it has been for you. giving a child up for adoption can't be an easy choice for everyone (I hope!) I do hope that you have at least been able to contact your birth parents and let them know that you are doing well. I feel for those who have no choice but to give up a child, and never know how their life has turned out.

Funny thing when talking about adoption, my youngest daughter used to always joke around that she must have been adopted. The reason we all laugh at this is because my sister, brother, and I all have blonde hair and blue eyes. My son, blonde hair and blue eyes, my oldest daughter has blond hair and BEAUTIFULLY bright blue eyes (You would think she was wearing contacts) yet my youngest daughter is brown haired and brown eyed. I always teased her back by saying her mom must have jumped the milkman or something. God just talking about my kids can make me smile! All 3 I am so proud of. My oldest daughter has made me a grandpa to a beautiful little girl, and my son told me last month that I am going to have a grandson in a few more months. Yeah, I have made my mistakes and gone through good times and bad financially, many of the problems of my own creation, but I wouldn't change a thing because if I did I wouldn't have the family I have now.

Sure you can..just like your parents. I figure the people who raised me are my parents. Anyone can have a baby but not anyone can be a parent as the saying goes. Never tried to look for them, short of putting my name in for a contact at the agency when I turned 18, and never cared to do more. I wouldn't mind it but I'm not going to spend time and money chasing what may never be or may be something I don't want to see.

While part of my equating having a child to buying something is probably b/c I don't have children, I feel in a way there are similarities about being prepared at least to some extent for it..
