My future son in law is on deployment in the Persian Gulf but returns next week.

While he was gone he kept his 2006 Taco Pre-runner at our house. I'm trying to get it ready for his return and the cabin blower fan is only occasionally working. It seems to be just the fan. When it stops you can still feel some cold air coming from the ducts without the fan running. When it's not working, even with the a/c off it still will not blow. Then next time you get in it will be working, for a while, then stop.

Any suggestions on where to start? Took it today to get it washed and waxed and would like to get it working for the kid before his return. Florida is hot in July.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like you would need to have the blower motor replaced. My guess...$200 installed at the dealer, but I don't really know what it'll cost.

It's located behind the glove box...maybe it's just a loose connection...find the squeaky blower motor thread and that'll show you how to get to it to check.

Does it do that at all speed settings? Next time it's not working, flip the switch to High. If it works on High then it's likely the resistor pack or the connector to it. If all speeds fail then it may be the blower motor or something else. You'd need to troubleshoot with a multimeter at that point to isolate the cause.
