    hey guys,

as the title says, I'm looking for rec's on speakers and amp if i need it. I'm 28 and haven't installed a system in a car since my high school days (although I did have a bad ass 2 jl 12 with double amps set up back then :D )

I just bought a Alpine CDE-135BT head unit and if the sound quality doesn't improve drastically after install I would like to buy new speakers that will actually make a very noticeable difference. I have a 03 trd extra cab, I need the speakers to work well with the HU listed above. I don't mind buying an amp if I need to but I'm not looking to overkill it just for the sake of doing it.

I don't listen to much rap, mostly country and 90's awesomeness like the goo goo dolls and counting crows so i'm not looking for insane bass over everything else and have no need for 2 12's taking up all my back seat/storage area. I'd like to keep things as clean looking as possible but willing to make some mod's for a significant difference in sound.

As far as budget goes, I'm willing to pay for quality that's worth it as this truck isn't leaving my driveway any time soon. at the same time, I'm not looking to blow 2k or anything like that on speakers so keep it reasonable :D

Yes trolls, I did search, waded through a crap ton of 2nd gens threads and found some first get stuff but what did half way match what i'm looking for seemed very old. find another bridge please
