New Member & Possible New Owner

Hi from Atlanta! I just joined because possibly today, if everything goes as planned, I may be the owner of 2007 Tacoma Double Cab. It'll be my first Tacoma and can't contain the excitement. It's been a dream truck of mine for a while now. Hope to learn a lot from you folks.
So, I do have a few questions just to start learning and thinking.

1. I realized the tailgate does not have a lock on it. Is there a mod for this or is it a matter of getting a new tailgate?

2. One thing I don't like is there is no side molding on the truck which I can just see getting hit by doors left and right. what's the best solution for this?

3. Mine will be a 4X2 which I had to compromise on. I'm a suburban guy so won't be offroading or anything. But, will it still be able to get me on/off an occasional dirt field?

4. what are some general or popular accessories/mods that are common to do right away?

EDIT: Now I am a Tacoma owner! Bought her on the 2nd but haven't been able to drive her because I've been out of town ever since. But in the meantime, I have been learning a lot from reading the forums and hope to gain even more knowledge from you all.
