I'm looking to level out the front of my truck. I have a 290 lb bumper up front. Can I get away OME 886's springs with stock shocks to level out the front. Or do I have to upgrade shocks as well.

Option number two is, getting 2" above coil spacers. I've read these are good and some say they are bad. I can't tell who is right. There seem's to be a divide in opinion.

    I have a 09 Tacoma access cab, 4cy.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hmmm...not quite sure. If you went with just 886 springs, and yes I'd get new shocks, either OME or billy's, you might get to much lift in the front. All you would have to buy is a Add a leaf though. I'm thinking you'd find yourself with bro lean. I have the 885 coils and nitrocharger sport shocks with the dakar leaf pack and I'm raking slighty in the front, but I've only driven my truck 3 times since it's been lifted so the suspension hasn't had time to settle, especially the rear. It's just sitting at home collecting tree sap and pollen haha.

    Btw, where abouts in Oregon?

I would recommend getting billies w/ your 886s... it maybe over kill but they are a better shock than stock ... stock and 886s would be fine but with your bumper not sure if I would want to stress the shocks out..

Why not go with the OME shocks that the springs were made for?

Cost like most people who just want lift and not the better performance of a higher cost setup

If you have a 290lb plate bumper, you probably don't want to cheap out on the suspension that is supporting it though.

As always, it comes down to money or the lack there of. 5100 will cost me $200 and they will give me the lift I'm looking for. I'd love to get the OME shocks and springs, but they would cost much more.

I might hold off and save some more $$$.
