I was expecting a fight with the rusty nuts holding the thing on, but they came off OK. It was the plug on the wiring harness that whipped me. I removed the console, but one mangled hand later, I couldn't get the connector off. I ended up cutting the wire and soldering/shrink wrap/taping to the new one. Drove it about 15 minutes and the CEL went off. Woo-hoo. Thanks to whoever suggested that on this board.

Does the truck drive any better? (Power or mpg) I don't have any codes but I've been thinking about replacing mine.

Don't know about mpg yet, but seat-of-pants dyno says slight gain in HP. Could be my imagination, though. Nice to have that orange light gone.
