Just filled my wife's 2011 TRD Sport. Before the fill, the fuel gauge read 3/4 full. After the fill, the gauge still registered 3/4. I tried stopping and turning off the ignition switch and restarting. It still did not come up until I had driven about five miles. Something to be concerned about? My wife is off on a 1000 mile road trip. Don't want any bad experiences.

I have an 07 and mine does the same thing every now and then. After driving a few miles it goes up to full. I don't worry bout it though. Never failed me yet and i take cross country trips every year.

Way back when there were still plugs, points, and condensers, I did a tune up on my 1970 Olds Cutlass. Started it and it ran perfect.

The next day I went to start it again, and all I got was a churning starter motor with no signs of the engine catching.

I ripped the whole job I did the day before apart to find nothing wrong and put it all back together. Still no start.

My dad came out with a shot glass full of what looked like Jack Daniels and poured it into the carb throat. He told me to give it another try and the engine kicked right over. The gas gauge showed I had a half tank of fuel when it all started but upon looking at it again, the dreaded "E" showed up loud and clear.

On that one time, just before the tune up, the gauge decided to stick at the half way point but I was actually out of gas and didn't know it.

What I thought was Jack was a shot glass full of fuel.

Sometimes that is just the way it goes, or in this case ----------- doesn't.
