5100 or 5125 with TSB, 1.5" AAL, overload?

    Hey guys,
I have done SO MUCH searching on this but can't find the answer. Believe me, iv'e read every thread out there regarding this.

I'm all ready to order my lift parts for my 13' DCSB, but can't figure out if I should go with the Bilstein 5100 for the rear or 5125. The rear has the TSB leaf, and I plan to add Wheelers 3 leaf progressive AAL and leave the overload in. From what I can tell, this should leave me with a little less than a 2" lift.

Front will have 5100's with eibachs at .85.

Iv'e talked to DSM already, and they didn't really know what to recommend either as they do not have experience with wheeler's products.

From what I understand, the 5100 will be a little too short and be subject to overextending. I dont' plan to do any extreme wheeling by any means-my truck for the most part could be considered a mall crawler  but I do want to have the capability for the occasional trail. If I go with 5125's, will I need anything else (bump stops, brake lines?) or have to worry about bottoming out the shock?

Anyone out there with experience with similar setups, please chime in! Would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

You could go with the 5100 on the aal and tsb and be just right, or if you want to go with the 5125 add a 1-1.5" block for the extra lift. Seeing how you don't sound like u will be doing much hard wheeling I would not worry about over heating the fluid in the shock or breaking a rod/poping the top of the shock... That really only happens when people jump there truck or hit whoop at a fast speed.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
I have 5125s on the rear w/ 2.25" of lift from the DAKARS and adjustable shackles adding an additional 1" of lift. If your sitting at 2" of rear lift then I think you'll be fine with what you have. Longer brake lines aren't absolutely needed until around 2.5"+ of rear lift. If your doing some off roading then I would recommend longer brake lines with any lift. But just to be sure, check how much slack you have on the rear brake lines.

As for bump stops, measure the distance you have now from frame to bump stop and compare with shock travel. I think you should be fine but measure just incase.

Talk to DSM about 5125's, they used to not recommend them. The 5125's require an eye to stem adapter which is basically just shock travel lost. With the setup you're talking about, you should be dead at 2" of lift for the rear. For what it's worth, I have a similar setup, TSB leafs, Icon 3 leaf AAL and the overload in place and am running standard length 5100's. The only difference is, I have a shell and tools in the bed so that takes away some of my lift. The rear rides very nicely and I have plenty of flex off road. If you want to maximize downtravel, you should get the setup in place and flex it without shocks, taking measurements of max droop and min compressed. Give those numbers to DSM and they will tell you which shocks will best suit your needs. Keep in mind longer shocks could mean extended brake lines and extended bump stops are required.
