I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 does it have holes already drilled for the trailer hitch to be mounted? I am also looking for a kayak and canoe rack at a reasonable price.

Most receivers these days do not require any drilling, they will utilize holes that already exist in the frame. You will not need to drill for an OEM receiver however you will need to remove the bumper for installation. For what it's worth, I put a Hidden Hitch on my 2007. Install was very easy, no drilling and I did not have to remove the bumper.

I have a Yakima rack and I didn't think it was reasonably priced (but I guess that depends on your definition). The basic system with faring was about $400 total. I use the Yakima Bow-Down kayak mounts, which were another ~$125 each. That's $650 total.

If I were to do it over again, I think I would go with the bed-mounted rear rack. The roof rack is pretty difficult to load solo. Here's a picture.

Wouldn't it be easier to mount the kayaks on the trailer? I've seen a few people do this.

OP, the holes for the hitch should already be there.

Having the rack on the camper ties you to having to bring the trailer everywhere you want to kayak. Having the rack on the truck lets you park the camper, then bring the kayaks to where ever you want to paddle.

Hey Mike, your all over the place. Looking for the OEM hitch install instructions. I know what to do, just want to be sure. I got a used one and it didn't come with hardware. May need some spacer/ washers or something from what i gather. Haven't seen you over in the NE B.S. thread in while ?
