O.P. If you have the time to wait, then I'd say wait and custom order a 14' exactly how you want it in your favorite color. I was able to order my '13 in the beginning of September last year and received it just before the middle of November.

You really won't get that great of deal buying a left over '13, Toyota doesn't overproduce these trucks. When i was looking at this time last year, I actually had multiple dealerships around me trying to sell me a leftover '12 in a different color and cheaper configuration than I wanted for more than I paid for my '13.

Chances are that if you want anything other than White, Black, or Silver you won't be able to get it in a specific configuration this late in the year. If you can find exactly what you want in your top choice of color now, then I say go for a '13 though. It's a lot of money to spend on a new vehicle, so get it just like you want it. Don't let the stealerships tell you that you can't custom order a Tacoma or get exactly what you want, because you can. Took me 5 dealerships before I finally found a good one who would order for me.

that's good advice. I think I am going to just wait and see, if the taco has a wimpier engine then I will look used or maybe new tundra.

    Bone stock for now....
When I bought my 2013 in December last year there were still 2012's to be had in North Texas. I'm paranoid enough so I wouldn't be able to purchase a 2013 until I knew the 2014's did not receive any changes that were must haves for me. Even slight tweaks can sometimes make a big difference in overall enjoyment.

Looking back over the last 2 or 3 years, I much prefer the touchscreen radio over the previous design and to say I prefer the newer steering wheel over the previous design is the understatement of the decade. So, if I grabbed a 2011 at the end of the year only to find out the 12's had the upgraded wheel, I would be pissed.

Everyone is saying no changes for 2014, and that may be the case, but I'd want to know for sure. Just my .02
