I have an 05 prerunner v6 and for some reason my door locks are wonky. I had then replaced under warranty but now they are failing again.. I have 89,000 miles and the driver door and the passenger rear do not lock or unlock with the keyfob... Anyone else have this issue? Its a tons of money to get em fixed so I guess I'm gonna just use the key .... My question is this.. When u stick the key in and turn the lock manually all doors lock and unlock perfectly.. Aren't u just hitting an electric switch? Why would the doors not respond to the keyfob? Battery on keyfob has been changed.

Also I have the stupid blower motor resister issue that plagues this truck... I hope a shop will replace the resister for cheap

To add tot his I keep getting mailing from the dealership about tsb's or whatever u call em... I personally hate my dealership because I think that they are a bunch of crooks.. They take forever to do anything and dropping or truck off is an all day affair.

Is the spiral cable replacement really a big deal?

It could be if you get in a wreck and the SRS/Airbag System doesn't work.

But you'll get indications in the cab if it fails...unless it fails as the accident occurs.

There has been talk before about the lock actuators being a POS. Poeple have done a removal and disassembly to clean the gunk out of them. That will work for some time but it will happen again
