Hey guys, I just bought my first Tacoma, 2008 Radiant Red TRD Off Road Access Cab 4x4 Tow Package

I do have a question and it may be dumb, but I've had a few of my friends tell me this truck is lifted. I've always been a car guy and all this truck stuff is new to me. I noticed this silver spacer looking thing. I believe its a spacer to lift the truck.

Also, I noticed that i have what looks to be 4 leaf springs...is that normal?

Now the reason I ask all this is because I want to get new wheels and fender flares. I want the BFD's 18x9 with a 285/65/18 with the Bushwhacker Pocket Style Flares. I don't want to lift the truck at all because, I like it at its current height. My question is will I have rubbing issues even if I trim the liners and flares? Thanks in advance.

OHHH and owned it less than a week and got it stuck....:(

    Welcome to TW.

You have a spacer lift up front, for the rear some Tacomas (as mine did) came with factory 4 leaf in the rear instead of 3. Some rear had a 4th leaf added on a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin).

As for the remaining question I will leave it to someone who has experience such mods.

AcadianTaco: How do I know how big of a lift my truck has compared to the stock height?
Since I didn't add the spacers.

that is a VERY small spacer up front. Do both sides have them? Someone might have put it to fix your taco lean :p

^This is a good point, it is a small spacer, and may be a Taco lean spacer if it is only on the driver's side. The Tacoma usually is lower on the driver's side due to extra wheight (gas tank and battery)

If it's on both side it could be about 1.5 inch (or so)of lift. My stock measurement fom center of wheel to the fender was 20" on the driver's side and 20.25" on the passenger side (each Tacoma may very slighly). Take your measurement and compare them to the above values, it should give you an estimate on the height gain.
