Just got a Truck Trend in the mail.
Looks like the dear-old-guv is overreaching again. With a GVWR less than 10,000 pounds (like our Tacos) they seem to think the lack of a B-pillar, with attendant air bags, is a threat.

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety 214 deals with side impact protection and 216A deals with roof strength. They're looking to update these by Sept. 1 2015 (model-year 2016)
Manufactures reps are confident the existing cabs will pass these tests.

    I just frickin love it!!!

Yet they allow the trucks to come with overactive abs which is more dangerous at times.

Why not just redesign the door opening to allow for a B-Pillar. Oh wait, that negates the access part, hmmm. Nevermind.

Why not just put in a full internal roll cage. While they are at it why not just add so much cost noone can afford a vehicle.
