I am looking to purchase a DVD/NAV head unit for my '08 Tacoma. I currently have a Sirius Sportster 5 I want to keep (portable and lifetime subscription). I also have steering wheel controls. I do not have the JBL system. I want to add a back-up camera while adding the head unit. I also would like to upgrade the speakers at a later date. Any suggestions on models?

I have read numerous posts on slow NAV and poor sound quality. I am just getting frustrated and don't want to make a purchase without getting suggestions from my fellow Tacoma owners.

I have a kenwood ddx 418 and I love it, so i would recommend kenwood. crutchfield sells every thing you included the part to keep your steering wheel controls. And then you should contact mr. Marv on here when you plan on upgrading your speakers, he sells the mounts for the speakers in your door and also sells speakers that are great quality

There's a thread in the audio section all about the 2nd gens and radios. My preference is the avic series from pioneer. I have the pioneer avh 3500 bhs with app mode. Works fine for me and didnt have to buy another 1k radio for nav. I have the avic 910 bt in my mustang and loved it but couldn't justify the price when my radio and app mode does the same thing
