I had the the same dilemma. Looked at very attractive pricing on Chevy's. Dealer was willing to give me all rabates. It was like $11k of sticker. Look left and you can see what I chose.

I like GM.I have no problem with GM. For me it's GM or Toyota. Your on a Tacoma site so there's a lot of GM hate. I would say if you need a fullsize get a Silverado, if you need something smaller, get a Tacoma. They are both reliable if you take care of them! Good luck!

Just went from a 2000 chevy 4x4 to a 2013 TRD 4x4 V6 DCSB. I looked at F150's and they were too big. It seems full-size trucks, especially Dodge and Ford have just gotten incredibly large.

I've wheeled the Taco off-road twice now and it is way ahead of the old Chevy. Wheeling in and around town, parking lots and in traffic is so much better in the Taco.

I too have trouble hitting my head getting in. I think it's being short legged and long torso. I've learned to get aroung that now.

I get 18+ MPG in town driving to work which is city driving in traffic. I'm pleased with that and it'll probably get better as it breaks in.

I had zero problems with the Chevy though. It was a solid truck that NEVER let me down. I maintained it well, but I never had anything break on it that stranded me. It's just getting old and thought I needed something newer since I spend a lot of time hunting deep in the woods and don't really want to get stranded with a dead truck.

I love Toyotas, had a '00 4cyl Taco & a '89 6cyl 4Runner years back, but I dont agree with all the "anti-gm-silverado" comments. I've owned my '03 4x4 since new with absolutely no issues at all. My truck happens to be a babied, lo-mileage weekend truck, but my buddy's '01 Sierra 4x4 with 192k miles has had nothing worse than a water-pump go bad....Either way, if my silverado ever gives me a reason to trade her in, I'm thinking of "downsizing" to a Tacoma TRD DCSB 4X4 V6....
