Hello everyone, well duck season is right around the corner and I am going to invest in a layout boat seeing that I can get 16" Jon boat in those tight and weedy spots I want to go. I have been looking at the m-80 an the m-98 creek boats. If anyone has one or has heard anything about these, information about firsthand experience would be great. What I am really looking for is the mallardmarine. Marsh rat layout boat. I have been unsuccessful in finding one seeing that they have stopped production of them. If anyone knows where I can find one or if someone is trying to sell one please let me know. Thanks. http://www.creekboats.com/

Still interested in any info available but I have decided to take this project on with my father and construct my owns wrong that he is very capable with building boats. I have found plenty of plans and being 6'2 I think a custom would work best. Hopefully he will have some plans drawn up on CAD by the en of the week. Probably gonna use 1/4 inch high density foam and glass it with epoxy resin. If all goes well with this first prototype I will have it used as a mold and get it blown out of that kayak plastic.
