Well I guess it pays to be patient. Another dealer called me this mourning because I had emailed him on Friday with details of what I was looking for. Within a half hour he found the exact truck I was looking for and offered it to me for $525.00 cheaper than the guy that wouldn't budge. I pulled the trigger on that deal. All taken care of over the phone with a couple calls. Only problem is the dealer didn't have the vehicle on his lot. Has to get it from another dealer and may take a day or two. No big deal as I am not in a hurry.

Anytime they tell you that they can't budge, get up and say "Well, I guess you tried your best" Then go to the next dealer. They can always do better, and depending on how pressed you are, pinch them until they cry. I always thought $500 over invoice was fair, now I know that invoice and even a few hundred under they still make money. I go where the deal is, if that isn't in my hometown, fuck 'em, I'll drive across state to make it happen. Then I'll get my warranty work done at the hometown dealer.

Well for what it's worth I got the truck for $25,315.00/ Plus this truck has a couple small items the other didn't. the first one said all weather mats and the charge was $100.00. This one has the first aid kit ($29.00) and all weather mats & door sill ($165.00) Whatever that means. Those 2 items made the MSRP about $100.00 higher than the other one.

The sill protectors are useful. As for the all-weather mats, they'll give way to floorliners soon enough. :D

my brother got his 2012 double cab "texas edition" for $26k +ttl . like others have mentioned, i would strongly recommened the v6. you will get all that money back, plus some, when you go to sell it in the future

the savings in gas and insurance is negligible between the 2.

shopping for a truck is no fun. I learned in the past.. so I did tested the market ( see topic on "almost").
The mrsp is the bottom line which most dealer love to use to start the ball rolling ( in case yours 26915). I do my math, the base line price before any extras was added would be at least 3000 depends on package giving. So the dealer pay roughly 2000 less on top of that( dealer price from manufactor). The price would be around 21000/22000 for it. don't for get the holdback cost and the how long it sitting in the lot makes the different.
Like the other folks mention here to use edmound to get the fair market prices and prices from other dealers to get an even field of playing.
It make take to push and shove to get what you want.
