Someone smashed my manual driver's side mirror (the base that connects to the door itself is OK) and my buddy has an extra power side mirror.

    A. Can I use the power mirror in place of the manual?
    B. How hard is it for a dummy (like me) to make the swap?

    Welcome!
Yes, a power mirror can be used in place of a manual one.
    To change:
    1) Remove plastic triangle interior trim piece by prying outwards along angled part of door frame
    2) Remove 3 10mm nuts from original mount
    3) Install replacement mirror using original 10mm nuts. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. Short 1/4" drive ratchet/ratcheting screwdriver w/bit driver tool of choice here

Success. Total repair: $40. The dealership would have charged me at least $150.
    Thanks again.
