I have less rust on my '07 although mine still has more rust than most trucks of the same age. Damn you Toyota! :annoyed:

Why don't they use heavy duty undercoating direct from factory.... Oh wait nothing is done properly now and days.

Call them see if you can bargain down the prices. That dealer is very good with their used car sell. They only pick the nice one to keep. You can check the carfax record on their site. It has a solid maintainence record ..ask to see if they willing to take some photo underneath the truck for you. Then do the comparision with ur .

I'm actually in Toronto, Ontario. The market is quite dry for Tacomas. Note Canada's population is only 30-35 million. Compared to you guys at 300 million LOL. Plus our gas is more expensive. People buy fuel efficient cars.

Auto gets better mileage than 6MT. There is not much difference between 5th and 6th so hwy mileage suffers. Also reverse is way too tall gear. There were some throwout bearing issues as well.

I did not have any issues with mine. I don't regret buying my 6spd as I really do enjoy shifting, but the 5spd auto in a Tacoma is probably the better transmission. I hear it is the same as the 4.7 V8 Tundra had? I may be wrong on that one.

Other than the 6th needing to be a touch taller, 6spd is SO much nicer on the highway.

Set it, hit cruise, done. No super gear downs on hills redlining the damn engine.

That would be me. Man, that is rusty. It almost looks like if it was in a flood, judging by the rusted clamps on the intake filter. I got mine from massashussetts if that is how is spelled, which is somewhere around your area " geographically, and it does not have 1/5th of the rust yours have. Mine is a 2009 and it was a Gov. Vehicle which means it was worked to death! Yet, very little rust. It looks almost new under there, except on the metal welds of the chassis which have a light rust. I would walk away and look at one with maybe a little bit more moles but in better physical conditions. Anyways, these type of vehicles can go over 300,000 miles without any hickups!
