Does the existing bolt holes for the oem roof rack go straight into the headliner? I read some posts that say they will leak water on to the haedliner and some posts that say the are sealed and cannot leak water into the headliner.

Just wondered since i tightened mine down with a 1/4" ratchet/30 torx bit and the washer material squeezed out the sides. Dont want any water leaking in the header.

if you don’t have the roof rack, then they should have a pice of tape of some kind on them. Thats what i read on here a lot.

I originally didnt have the roof.rack so i had to poke through the painted tape. When i bolted the roof rack down the washer material squeezed out the sides a bit. Just wondering if water can leak past the bolts onto the header.

just installed mine this past week. the hardware comes with mastic washers which squeeze out it's waterproof material when fastened. that prevents leakage. and yes, you're right, the material squeezes out quite a bit. fwiw, I used a torque wrench for the prescribed settings.
