Alright, purchased my baby back in august 2012. 2005 sr5 TRD towing package. Had to go with the 4L. And , the best part, only 56xxx KM, with one owner and NO accidents. My dream had come true.

Here's a picture of her on the lot, and fresh off.

Well within the first few rides i noticed the stock stereo is very, very weak. I love the 6 disc CD changer, but it's not too helpful when you can hear a pin drop over some sounds. New speakers and subwoofers are a must. Went down to my local Car audio store and picked up Kenwood Double Din 6 inch touch screen deck, 2x Kicker 12'' Subwoofers, 4 Kicker 6x9 speakers, with a 1000w Kicker Amp, gauge wiring, and a cap. Well, let me tell you, i wont be going with kicker again. Half an hour after the install driving around playing with my new stereo, i drove straight back to my garage and took the subwoofers, amp, and 4 speakers out and back to the shop. It was not much better than the stock stereo, shame.

So...... back to the audio shop I went and returned all my kicker products, and instead way told alpine was the way to go. I picked up 2 alpine 12'' Type r Competition subwoofers, an alpine 4000w Amp, and 4 Alpine type X speakers for the doors. This is what I needed

    tacoma6_6041b317d8915de9fb544a87b3809c8b56fe759c.jpgMuch, much better.

The actual amp itself draws WAY too much power from the tacomas stock alternator, so when i get the bass cranked up too high, the alternator has a safe shut off and powers down the amp and subwoofers. Pretty cool, but I would like to see these bad boys at their full potential. Only have the one picture for now, but will be updating it in the next week. Best bang for your buck, absolutely NO complaints here.

Well, after the sound system was finished, and i was bumping down the road , i realized my exhaust wasn't loud enough , i needed to hear two types of deep bass, one from the exhaust tip and one from the subwoofers :)

Looked around for a week or so, and did a fair amount of research, and decided to go with an AFE are intake. Another great decision, super easy to install, easy on the wallet, looks absolutely amazing when the hoods popped, and gives that extra bit of roar and power ( slightly noticeable ) from the engine that i think was desperately needed

tacoma12_e4195bbdde8565e2aa9464a081183e4d9b458727.jpg Fits very nicely , and easy to install. Love this product.

AFE air intake was in, and sure enough I wanted the exhaust to be a bit louder, so after some more research i said lets go with a straight pipe. Another great decision, the snappy sound makes my heart melt. Again, will post a video here soon showing how freaking loud it is, the speakers and exhaust go hand in hand :) sorry if i sometimes set off your car alarm :)

Loving the Tacoma so far, had some real great fun on some trails with the stock tire size and 17 inch alloy rims, but was tired of seeing lifted Tacoma's riding down the highway and being super jealous, so , the time was right and I decided to go with BDS's 6 inch Non coil-over kit. I purchased it from CTP , and for a great price too. The only down side was I would be waiting almost a month, because the lift is on back-order. Grrr, patience , patience. A month later, I was finally rewarded.

tacoma14_9178c89426b678cc48bc09c8b50ddd92e14412e5.jpgXMAS DAY HAS ARRIVED! Now lets travel 1500km home, and start this lift kit, needless to say at this point im shaking with excitement.

After the long drive back from work with my lift kit in the safety of my box, ( i kept checking almost every 5 minutes like clock work , haha ! ) I arrived safe and sound and started the process. Was a definite learning curve, but one i very much enjoyed. Sorry for the lack of pictures, as i really wish i would have taken more.

The lift took me approx. 10 hours in total over 5 days, it was my first time ever doing anything like this, and ran into several problems. Lots of the old bolts on the Tacoma were so severely rusted that the majority had to be torched or cut off. Both ABS sensors on both front tires were so badly corroded that when they were needed to be unhooked, the plastic snapped off. Also noticed the calipers where very badly warped and dirty, decided to get 2 new pairs. Both the camber bolts that you use to make the alignment were rusted off , had to torch and cut and buy new bolts. The brake line extension that came with BDS's kit was a little to short, so I had to connect an extension to lengthen out the brake lines a little more. But other than that, the lift was smooth as butter and I was cruising my truck around a week after the start date.

Ah, complete. Beauty sunset as I just finished driving her for the first time. Needless to say Im one happy guy.

    tacoma23_c3fc01e292b8c20e01c91d15354fdf861ad06542.jpgDecided a quick sticker job was a MUST !

Lift kit installed and LOVING it ! The 35x12.5 Inch tires do have a fair amount of rub, but nothing a body mount chop or cut off the fenders cant fix. I really need to fix how the tire rubs on my sway bar end links, and sway bar when fully turned to the left or right. So, decided to pick up a pair of spidertrax 1.25 Wheel spacers. Sets the tire out more, increases the rub and full turn radius a bit more, but again nothing a BMC cant fix. Will be doing that soon as well !

Painted engine cover, at LEAST 80HP gain :)

Well, about 4 days after installing the spacers my wheel bearings are on their way out, time for me to learn how to do my wheel bearings, will post another reply soon once I have finished the bearings and shes back on the road, will post some photos of the wheel bearing being fixed as well, hope you all enjoyed for now, and tune back in soon !

    -------------------------------UPDATE 7/30/2013 !--------------------

Hey guys, ordered up a cheap wheel bearing off Ebay, around 50 bucks ! Took a few days to arrive, but it was worth the wait with the 70-100 dollars extra my local parts store wanted. Heres a look at the bearing !
    1006027_624289784258102_1903901744_n_c333ccab2322d56cdd2549aa11745ee22bf27828.jpg

Got it in the mail and started to take off the wheel, and my spacer... and it looks a little something like this...

    993329_624290020924745_426259926_n_51da47c2c773a624b5cd29755ad14437ac6ad3eb.jpg

Once I removed the cap with a chisel, the rest was pretty much self explanatory. Remove the cotter pin, use a 32 socket to take of the hub nut, once the nuts off , remove the 4 bolts around the corners of the hub and boom, your finished !

Here's a quick comparison of the old bearing assembly, beside the new bearing assembly pressed into the Hub. Dirty hey?

Here's another few pictures of the old bearing assembly + pieces of the bearing ...

Ended up taking the old assembly to a local machine/metal works shop, and they did all the pressing for me for 10 bucks. Took literally about 10 minutes, compared to my local Toyota dealership ( 4 hour approx. job @ finished total of $409. HA ! Get Real ! ) This was my first major fix on any vehicle I have owned, so their may be a few minor things I could improve on, but needless to say im installing the new assembly in a few hours and I have a feeling of great self accomplishment:cool::cool::cool::D;)
