6-lug Tacoma is compatible with 6-lug Tundra.
1st Gen Tacoma 5-spoke alloys were the same wheels used on the 1st-Gen Tundra TRD Offroad.

The backspacing IS different. I don't recall exactly which way it goes, but I believe the 1st Gen wheels have more backspacing than 2nd Gen, so the 2nd Gen Tacoma wheels will "tuck" a bit more into the Tundra.

Somewhat correct;). The 1st gen Tundra wheels has less backspacing. 16" from the 2nd gen Tacoma would be you best option. The 17" has too much BS which will bring your tire too close to the UCA.

    I always get that backwards.

And I got it backwards within the post.
2nd Gen Tacoma wheels WILL tuck more into the Tundra, because the 1st Gen wheels have less backspacing ;)
