    Ok, not sure how many of you are into politics or in the military.. Well I am currently on board the USS John C. Stennis (CVN-74) finishing up a 6 month deployment to the western pacific. We just finished up an exercise with the Air Force up here near Alaska called Operation Northern Edge 2009.

    Sarah Palin made an unnanounced, undisclosed location visit to the stennis the other day and continued on to the middle east for more trips, but she came on-board and would only speak to the troops who were residents of Alaska. How much BS is that?

    I have met President Bush, Dick Cheney, and plenty other big name politicians who have addressed my command's in a whole and did not pick out a group of people by their residency..

    Anyone have some opinions on this? I feel that could be a possible public relation disaster for her if it were actually publicized. :mad:

    IBTL.

    shit on Obama.

    Thought I'd throw that out there right away.

    anways;

    I'm sure Palin had something to say in regards to Alaska. I think what she did is kosher, but then again my political opinions are, well "wack".

    Thus is the reason i caused the deletion of the political forums here.

    Well I am not exactly looking on political views, just what you would think if an important figure came to visit troops at the end of their deployment and only wanted to speak/meet 16 out of a crowd of close to 5,000 people.

    Really depends on the message I'd guess. Besides, who really cares, she did herself no favors in her run and will never be anything more than an Alaskan icon.

    Speaking only to Alaska residents was probably a *SAFE* thing for her to do.

    If she addressed the entire ship - that'd be 'over-stepping' her boundries and probably a worse PR thing for her to do.

    Just as any other state governor, she is looking after her constituents. I would not really want to meet a different states gov....but she is a little different since she happens to be a MILF.

    I think you are overreacting a little...she has always visited her AK troops no matter where they were. She actually CARES for her troops. Can't say that for to many politicians.

    She is not done...what's not to like about someone that gives the established politics (which are out of control and out of touch and need to go) a big FU. I like her, a REAL change...not some lame-ass, two faced politician like Obama. This country got it's CHANGE alright...:censored:
