Looking for suspension squeak, found problem with coilover

I purchased a toytec ultimate lift a while back and decided to save some money by using my stock top plate or shock mount. Fast forward a few years and I decided to take the front suspension apart to see what was squeaking. I discovered that the coilover was seated crooked. I took it apart and discovered the upper shock shaft from the bilstein 5100 had bent the opening of the stock top plate. I noticed the rubber padding between the coil and stock top plate had shifted and wasn't seated properly which leads me to believe had something to so with the coil unsettling. Has anyone had any experience with this? I've reordered a new top plate and will reassemble the coilover without the rubber padding.
