I have a 04 taco and the headlight chime (to remind you to cut off your headlights when getting out) does not work but the door chime does. Is there anyway to fix this problem and cut off the door chime (the door chime is just plain annoying) The have gotten left on multiple times and no one knew. I got lucky and it never drained my battery.

On my 04, the lights go off when I turn off the ignition, even with the switch in the "on" position. So, no real need for a chime.

They do. You turn the ignition off and they are still on along with the radio, then open the door and it all turns off. And I believe they only turn off if you open the driver door.

Might be the door open sensor. Do your dome lights turn on when you open the door?
