Frame rusting

I am the owner of a 2002 Toyota Tacoma. Macanically the truck is awesome and in great condition. Back in 2008 (or something) Toyota had a recall about the frames rusting out and were even buying back trucks. I took mine in for the inspection, passed and was sent on my way. About 4 months ago I took my truck to my regular macanic to have the exhaust relplaced and he informed me that my frame was so rusted that it wasn't safe to drive. I conctacted Toyota and filed a claim. After about 3-4 weeks of them jerking me around they finally sent a regional represinitive out to inspect my truck. They informed me they cannot offer me anything as I didn't keep up on the undercoating. I was never informed of needed to keep up on the undercoating or even knew that it was a service that would be provided to me at no cost. I am pissed! Any thoughts or advice? I am waiting for a call back from a supervisor and am thinking about seeking legal advice.

Well that's news to me. They told me after they sprayed my truck, the warranty is good for 15 years after the date the truck was put into service. They never said anything about a respray. I live in PA so my gets inspected annually. I think you're getting hosed.
I think my frame was sprayed back in 2011. I didn't know they started spraying back in 08.

 

I think they are pulling your leg. I've never heard of haftin to keep up on spraying undercoat for warranty.
