Backing out of my drive way today and thought it was in reverse. Went to bring it into neutral as I rolled out of the driveway, but apparently I was already rolling back in neutral and shifted it into drive by mistake. Was going backward probably between 5 - 10 mph, and when I shifted into drive, it killed my engine. Was able to start right back up, but was a bit of a scare.

Should I be worried about the transmission after this?

    2012 V-6 Automatic.

Wasn't really the best thing for it, but as long as you don't make a habit of doing that I don't think one incident will have any bad long term effects

OK. I don't plan on doing it again (didn't plan on it that time either) but just kinda freaked me out. I'm usually pretty careful about what I do with my shifter.
