05 DCSB w/Auto Trans-78k miles- No vibration or play in the universals but not a big fan of the "hard thuds" from the spline on the driveshaft flexing and popping loose I get when after coming to a stop.. I know there are a few things on this but has anyone gone to a single/solid drive shaft for this reason? We went to a solid drive shaft on the old 85 pickup because the carrier bearing went to crap after 530k miles and the same guy said he can build a solid one for my truck for $250-300.. would this be a reasonable mod? I do plan on throwing a 3" suspension lift on the truck in some due time.. Thanks for your input! :)

Do the lift, then the 1 peice. Plenty of people run or have ran (me included) a 1-peice drive shaft, well worth the investment to rid the (majority) vibes.
