I have a 3 week old Tacoma, non JBL, Non Entune. MY XM reception cuts out constantly with the slightest cover from trees, and there's not even any leaves on them yet. I wired in a Sirius radio to my old truck using a Stilletto portable unit with the car adapter kit, antenna front and center on the roof and it worked beautifully.

Is there any way to improve it? Is it the vehicle, the antenna/radio, or the difference between XM and Sirius? I'd hate to wire in my old Sirius radio when this has it all built in.

It's frustrating especially with how well my old system worked. This one constantly hisses.

    Thanks for any input.

I have sirius/xm with entune in my 2012. Works great so far (knock on wood) no issues as of yet. Did you try giving Sirius a call? I have had the service for several years and pretty decent customer service. Call them, they can shoot you a new signal to your radio. It should be able to determine if it is a radio or service issue. If its a radio issue your dealer should take care of it thru warranty.,
    Good luck!

My wife and I both have xm in our cars. She has a murano. Cuts out in the same areas around our house. Lots of tall ish trees. Thats the bummer about sat radio. I used to have Sirius and it did the same in a previous car.

Mine cuts out under tree cover as well, non Jbl/entune. Had an aftermarket Sirius unit in my previous truck and had same issues as well, just the nature of the beast i guess when it comes to Sat radio.

I had XM in an '08 Accord and now in my '09 Tacoma. It cuts out in the same spots for both cars when I drive to and from work. Too many times in fact to justify the cost. A friend of mine has an aftermarket Sirius set up and he has very few issues with reception but his wife's new Silverado has reception issues similar to mine. Is the issue inherent to XM but not Sirius? I don't know.

I have the same issues in my 2012 Tacoma. I've noticed it in certain spots, but it happens on any SE or NW roads that are tree lined. Majority of my 6 hr drive to NC I couldn't use XM.
