Ok, today a wanted to look at my rotors and pads. I jacked the front passenger side up and removed wheel. Pulled two cotter pins from brake pad rod and removed rod. I also removed the longer bottom spring. Inspected pad. Then I reinstalled pad in the reverse order and put wheel on. Lowered jack and figured that was it. I backed my truck up a few feet and the truck shook like the wheel was going to shake off. What is wrong. I'm baffled. Thanks

I'm going to take wheel off in the morning and reinspect. Still baffled.

Did you torque down the lug nuts? Did you unbolt the caliper? If so are the caliper bolts torqued?

Yes. The lug nuts are tight. I did not unbolt the caliper.

You may have a pad crooked in the caliper binding on the rotor. From the little you did it has to be something simple.

Ok. Maybe but it was a pretty tight fit so not really room to be crooked.

My guess would be that you had only one brake grabbing as you reversed (the one you didn't take apart) and the one you looked at was just catching with one side or part of the pad. Give your brake pedal a few good hard pumps, while in park, to even the pressure to all brake cylinders and try to back up again. Then stop, pump the brake pedal again and drive forward. Should even the pad surface grabbing.

I tried pumping it a few times. Didn't seem to help. I'll try it again in the morning. My pedal did feel real spongy.

No. I don't believe so. Lol. Never heard that one but I was frustrated from earlier so anything is possible.

I used a brake cleaner aerosol spray and i guess it was old. I sprayed everything down then put the tire on and cleaned up yesterday. I guess the cleaner was bad because upon inspection today a realized that it was really sticky and causing pad adhesion. cleaned rotor and pad and its good to roll.
