Every raced two identical stock trucks

Just curious if anyone has ever raced two indentical (same body style, engine, trans, gears, etc) trucks with similar mileage to see if there is a difference. The only reason I ask is when I was in highschool everyone had s-10s. I had 3 buddies with the exact same trucks (91 2.8 5spd 2wd std cab). 2 where neck in neck when raced, the third was no contest. All 3 were bone stock, but the fast one could pull up behind you on the highway, pace your speed, pull out and drive around the other 2 no matter what you did. You just could outrun that truck unless you had the 4.3 version. Just curious.
