    Hi folks,

I have Hybrid Audio speakers all around powered by a 120x4 amp. I noticed by playing with the headunit settings the other day that when I fade it to the rear, no sound is produced. Where would I start in troubleshooting this?

Just to make sure I'm understanding you, the rear speakers are not producing any sound whatsoever? So no sound from the rear speakers when you move the fade back to the center and front positions? Have the rear speakers ever worked? Did you install any of this stuff or did you have someone else do it for you?

That's correct. No sound from the rears when I move the fade to the back speakers but when it's centered I get good sound from the front speakers. They have worked but I'm not sure how long they haven't been working because I rarely move the fade away from the center and I have not been able to tell a difference in sound. I installed all of the audio myself and everything worked like a charm when I installed it. Sorry if I was being a bit vague in my question.

This has only happened to me in like 30 year old trucks with blown out speakers that no longer work, and it always was the driver side front/rear speakers that quit working.

I'd hope and think yours are new that it's a wiring issue?

You might have to replace the spaeakers if they are bad

I sure hope so as well. Where would I start in locating a wiring issue on the speakers?
They're only 2 years old, hopefully they aren't blown. I have no reason to believe they'd be blown as they are kept underpowered as it is.

Check one of the menu options on the HU to see if the rear speakers are set as full-range speakers, or if they're set as subwoofers.

With the HU in standby mode, go to the Audio menu. Then find the option called Preout Setup. You'll want to set it to Rear. If its currently set to Subwoofer, then that might be your problem. Let me know what you find.

If that setting is already on Rear, the next easiest thing is just checking for loose connections.

And I also want to test your memory ;)

When you put this system in, did you wire the rear pre-outs on the HU to the subwoofer inputs on your amp?
