Well, I got tired of the crappy quality of the stock speakers and I figured it was time for a change. I wanted to get a pretty basic set-up, but a quality one. I haven't really heard much of anyone running the American Bass line here on TW, but they seemed to have good reviews on the type of music I listen to. (Rock/metal). Anyway... I will be running the PH5100 5 channel amp from them with their SL-104 sub and their speakers.

I ended up using the stock speaker spacers... I was going to make my own/buy them but these worked pretty easily... with some minor modifications. How much do new spacers really help??

I cut out the bracket that holds the what ever it is... new speakers have it built it.

Here they are mounted into the spacer. These speakers are really deep and I was left with about 1/4" between the magnet and the window.

I put about a sheet of this on each door.. I didn't want to cover the window actuator as I've heard that sometimes the sound deaden-er can get caught in it??...

Well for the back the stock speaker spacers really didn't fit... They are too wide and the holes don't line up at all...

So I improvised and drill new holes for them to mount to right next to the old ones :D There is also some trimming you need to do on the place holder clip things...

Well, really that's all the farther I got today. I need to have someone build me a sub box for the single 10". My neighbor knows a guy who can build them and said he'd do it just the cost of materials for me. That'll be next, maybe in a couple weeks!

It sounds alright. It's just speakers right now, no amp or anything... yet.

I am just using their SL104 10" shallow mount sub, nothing special.

Should fit really easily, it's not very big. (No pun intended...:D)

Looks good. I have a friend who has American Bass products in his car and it sounds nice.

Just a little tip/observation. It's kind of hard to tell from the pictures but did you put any sound deadening on the outer door panels? That is where your going to get most of your sound deadening. I would say about 60% coverage on the outers(gotta have small hands!) and then seal up the inner door frame.

I did not cover the inside... I didn't even know about that! I went back and checked a couple good guides on the forum and well it looks like I'll be adding more deadening inside there :) I have plenty left. I have the back wall done where the sub will go, if I have any left after the inside doors where should I put the rest? Thanks man!
