Hello. I bought my 2011 Tacoma about two months ago. Its not my first Tacoma but I hope it will be my last. I had a 06 reg cab 4x4 when I was in high school and loved it. I had to let her go when I left for boot in 09. Two months ago I was sick and tired of my jeep and having just finished my tour in Hawaii I decided it was time to retire the jeep and get myself a vehicle that I've always wanted. I bought my DBL cab short bed 4x4 V6 TRD off road. First off my rims suck. They are the ugliest chrome 17s I have ever seen and they don't go with the pyrite mica at all. So those will be swapped out soon. As I drove around San Diego I noticed my truck sits a little higher than all the other tacomas I parked next to but I had it on a lift a week ago and there's no aftermarket suspension. I was planning on doing an ARB bumper and winch, a lift, rock sliders, wheels, and painting the chrome back bumper black. What do you guys think?

This my truck in its current condition. Any ideas on a lift kit? I have about a $5000 budget. That includes wheels tires and bumper too.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
Nice looking truck! IMO you should... Go with coilovers or OME or Eibach springs wrapped around some OME shocks or bilsteins. For the rear you should get new leaf springs paired with new shocks. Save money by doing install yourself and put towards more fun stuff. Like, front and rear plate bumpers, 33" tires, paint current wheels or just get new ones.

Everything adds up quick so try and do most of the installs if possible.

Have fun with the new toy! I wish I had a $5K budget!

Haha. 9 month deployment is why I'm about to have 5k to spend on it. Thanks for the tip and your first gen looks BA. I've always liked that look. I'm gonna swap the rims with factory fj trail team rims or the tx pro rims.

I'm new to the forums as well.

Hope you took advantage of the trails Hawaii had to offer.

5K will get you more now that u are back in the lower 48. I agree with Mainmoe02....He nailed it on all counts. It seems $5,000 here in Hawaii will barely fill up our gas tank.

    Aloha!
